Arrangements have been made by the Council for the examination
of sputa from cases, or suspected cases, and during the year 16 such
examinations were made.
Treatment for cases of Tuberculosis is under the control of the
Surrey County Council, who provide both sanatorium and dispensary
treatment.
The Tuberculosis After-Care Committee continued its good work
during 1944.
Mass radiography, as referred to in last year's report, is now in
operation at St. Helier Hospital, and a considerable number of persons
resident in the Borough have had the advantage of being examined.
It is understood that the personnel of many of the industrial
organisations and public services will now have an opportunity of
undergoing this valuable form of health examination in the early
future.
