CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.
Special work of this nature is carried out when required at the
Counties Public Health Laboratories.
Routine examinations of milk and water samples continue to be
done in the Public Health Laboratory established in 1937 at the Town
Hall, Wallington, under the supervision of the Medical Officer of
Health.
NUTRITION.
At the close of the second year of war, the evidence gained by
the examination of mothers and children at the Council's Clinics
showed that the state of average nutrition was especially high. This
satisfactory state of affairs is undoubtedly due to the better distribuof
foodstuffs than obtained in the last war, and also to the granting
of priority supplies of milk and vitamin products to mothers
and young children.
