General and Accident Cases. In 1938 a new Ambulance Service was
provided by the Council operating from the Fire Station in Belmont
Road. This service was extended in October, 1939, when an additional
ambulance was purchased to meet the increased demands of the residents.
The Council on the 29th June, 1935, undertook responsibility
for any expenses incurred by the Police, or other persons, in the provision
of an ambulance for the removal of cases of accidents occurring
in the Borough.
NURSING IN THE HOME.
This service is undertaken mainly by the staff of the Beddington
, and Wallington District Nursing Association and their work in the
Borough is greatly appreciated.
During the year the District Nurses attended 395 cases, including
56 maternity and 106 midwifery patients.
