MISCELLANEOUS.
EXAMINATION OF EMPLOYEES.
During the year the Medical Officer of Health carried out the
examination of all new staff for admission to the Council's Superannuation
Scheme. Twenty-four candidates were examined and all
were admitted to the scheme.
PROPACANDA.
Public health propaganda engaged the attention of the Council
during the first three months of the year, the Council co-operating to
the full in the Surrey County Council's Health Campaign.
This campaign, organised and conducted by the Central Council
for Health Education, was run in conjunction with the National
Health Campaign inaugurated by the Prime Minister in his broadcast
address on September 30th, 1937.
The object of the campaign was to stimulate the nation to a more
vigorous health consciousness and to obtain a wider use of the health
services provided by local authorities.
On the whole, the meetings were well attended, and the gratifying
increase in numbers of patients attending the various clinics shows
that the campaign is already bearing fruit.
