It is gratifying to note that deaths from this cause, although still
high, are considerably less than last year.
With regard to the anatomical distribution of the disease, deaths
due to Cancer of the uterus and appendages predominate in females,
while Cancer of the intestinal tract seems to be common in both sexes.
Carcinoma of the lungs is diagnosed more frequently in recent
years, probably due to the improved methods and better technique
available in our hospitals.

The following table compares the actual death rate from Cancer in Beddington and Wallington with the corresponding rate for the whole country: —
