HOUSING.
As stated in previous reports, a large proportion of the houses in
the Borough are very good class dwellings, while the majority, having
been built during the last 25 years, are in very good condition and well
spaced.
HOUSING STATISTICS.
1. Inspection of Dwelling-houses during the year.
(1) (a) Total number of Houses inspected for housing
defects (under Public Health or Housing Acts) 834
(b) Number of inspections made for the purpose 846
(2) (a) Number of Dwelling-houses (included under
head (1) above) inspected and recorded under the
Housing Consolidated Regulations, 1925 160
(b) Number of inspections made for the purpose 160
(3) Number of Dwelling-houses found to be in a state so
dangerous or injurious to health as to be unfit for
human habitation —
(4) Number of Dwelling-houses (exclusive of those referred
to under the the preceding sub-head) found not to be
in all respects reasonably fit for human habitation 471
2. Remedy of Defects during the year without Service of Formal
Notices.
