Beddington and Wallington 1937

During the year 200 expectant mothers attended the Clinic, as
compared with 184 in 1936. This represents approximately 50 per cent,
of the total notified births (live and still) which occurred in the
Borough during 1937. The total number of attendances made at the
41 sessions was 804, as compared with 744 in 1936.
POST-NATAL CLINIC.
Post-natal cases are seen as they present themselves at the antenatal
clinic and it is estimated that about 45 per cent. of the cases
seen at the ante-natal sessions return for post-natal examinations
after their confinement. This figure is relatively small, but it is anticipated
that when consultant post-natal clinics are inaugurated, the
attendances will increase.
Dr. Winifred Small continues to act as Ante-natal Medical Officer
and her services have been greatly appreciated.
MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE CENTRES.
There has been no change since the previous year in the days on
which sessions are held.
