SCARLET FEVER.
An increase in the number of cases of Scarlet Fever
notified took place, viz., 33 as against 15 last year. The
largest number of cases came from the Wallington North
and Central Wards, 12 cases occurring in each.
Thirty cases were removed to the Isolation Hospital.
No Deaths have occurred for the past four years.
DIPHTHERIA.
Twelve cases of Diphtheria were notified as against 15
last year.
Ten cases were removed to the Isolation Hospital.
It is a satisfactory feature that for five years no deaths
have occurred from this complaint.
The number of swabs examined at the Wandle Valley
Joint Hospital from this District numbered 130.
OPHTHALMIA NEONATORUM.
One case was notified.
ERYSIPELAS.
Seven cases were notified, of which 4 were removed to
the Isolation Hospital.
TUBERCULOSIS.
Twenty-three new cases of Tuberculosis were notified
during the year, of which 18 were pulmonary and 5 were
other forms of Tuberculosis.
