prepared after a Model which was appended to the Order. The
reason for such Order being issued was stated to he the advantage
which would accrue from the uniformity in the Tables which
would thus be included in the Reports issued by Medical Officers
of Health. Of course, when some months hence, all such details
have been collected and arranged, much valuable information will
be in the possession of the Local Government Board, and also of the
London County Council. I have therefore at the end of the text
of my Report, and anterior to the Appendix proper, produced the
Two Tables prepared in accordance with the Order to which I
have alluded.
Let me now consider some questions as to the births and
deaths which have taken place in the Whitechapel District during
the year 1892.

Correctly disposed therefore in the same order as the deaths are arranged, the births may be distributed as follows

Corrected to equal a year of 52 weeks the births would number
3051.
In 1891 the births numbered 3063, or 12 more than in the year
under consideration. It is probable therefore that the population of
the District remains almost stationary when compared with the last
