The above return shows that 38 cases of typhus fever, 3 of enteric
fever, and 2 of scarlet-fever have been sent from the "Workhouse, during
the last five months, to the Homerton Asylum Board Hospital, of persons
residing in this District, who had been temporarily admitted into the
Workhouse before fever had become developed. Of the above cases, 17 were
removed into the Workhouse from the registered common lodging houses, 4
from the Refuge in Crispin-street and 1 from Banner-st.* In" my last Report
a similar return is given of the number of patients who had been sent to the
