ANNUAL REPORT
OF
THE CHIEF PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTOR
1962
Public Health Department,
Municipal Offices,
New Maiden.
July, 1963.
To the Mayer, Aldermen and Councillors of
the Borough of Maiden and Coombe,
Lady and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present my Annual Report on the work of the
Public Health Inspectors during the year 1962.
Staff changes were less than in previous years and the work of
the department proceeded with little of the disturbance which naturally
follows the departure of a member of the staff and before a new colleague
becomes acquainted with the area and the nature of his tasks. The
Public Health Nurse resigned in October and the post of Additional Public
Health Inspector was not filled until the middle of December.
Mr. Brackfield passed the Smoke Inspectors Examination of the
Royal Society of Health, Mr. Cava continued his day release course at
the South-East London Technical College, Mr. Coker attended a course an
public health administration at Trinity Hall, Cambridge and I attended a
course in Radioactivity at Brunei College, Acton. During the year
assistance was given to the Midwife Teachers Training College and to
Gipsy Hill Training College in connection with their health education
studies.
