DEATHS.
During the year 467 deaths were registered, an increase of 52
compared with those recorded in 1954, the rate per thousand being
10-3 compared with an average of 11.7 for England and Wales.
The infantile mortality rate was 12.4, a low rate compared with
the figure of 24.9 for England and Wales. There were 19 deaths
due to cancer of the lung; 2 less than the deaths from this cause
in 1954.
