The number of notifications of pulmonary tuberculosis has,
with the exception of 1948 shown a steady decline since 1945
and the rate per 1,000 (0.67) for the current year is the lowest
for a number of years.
The death rate per 1,000 (0.13) was exceptionally satisfactory
being the lowest rate, at least for the past 30 years.
