The phosphatase test was made on 13 samples of
pasteurised milk, and satisfactory results were obtained
in 12.
SMOKE ABATEMENT.
For the first time for many years there were no
complaints in regard to smoke nuisance. Several visits,
however, had to be made where black smoke was observed
for unreasonable periods. The trouble appeared mostly
to be due to inferior fuel.
RATS AND MICE DESTRUCTION.
The observations I made in my previous report apply
equally well for this. I think possibly, however, it might
be worth recording that the amount of work done during
the year undoubtedly exceeded, by far, anything in
previous years.
AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS.
In addition to many other activities I attended a
week's revision course at Falfield during the year.
I am,
Mr. Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors,
Your obedient Servant,
HENRY TUNBRIDGE,
Sanitary Inspector.
