ENTERIC FEVER.
There were five cases of enteric group infection. Three
of these were typhoid, and two paratyphoid B. Of the
former group two occurred in a mental hospital where a
typhoid carrier was found, and one occurred in a sewage
worker. One of the paratyphoid B cases linked up with a
food infection in another district, and in the other case
the origin of the infection was not discovered. All cases
made a good recovery.
MEASLES.
An epidemic of measles appeared in the middle of
May, reached a peak in July, and slowly declined towards
the end of the year. Adult measles serum was prepared
as in previous epidemic years and use was made of it in
twenty-two cases. The lateness of the appearance of the
epidemic may have partly accounted for the general mildness
of the cases.
