PREVENTION OF MEASLES.
Measles is one of the most fatal diseases of early childhood,
owing to the frequency of lung complications; it is
most dangerous up to the age of three years and especially
so during the second year of life. It frequently causes ear
disease and permanent deafness.
It is a most contagious disease, and particularly so
before the rash appears on the fourth day of illness.
Do not look upon a ca.se of measles lightly.
Isolate the child and send for a doctor at once, before
the rash appears, if you suspect it.-
Do not neglect a child's cold.
Do not send a child to school with a bad cold.
Do not on any account send children to school if you
have a case of measles in the home without the consent of
a doctor.
Keep children clean, pay special attention to nose
and ears, keep them warm and well fed.
Do not overcrowd, and always see that your sanitary
arrangements are in good order.
