Health Education
The teaching of positive health in some form is an integral part
of every contact that a health visitor has with any member of the
public. In addition to this personal teaching, more formal group
teaching in health topics was undertaken in high and middle schools
on 118 occasions. 260 classes were given to expectant mothers to prepare
them for the birth and for the subsequent care of their babies.
On 57 evenings both expectant mother and father attended classes in
parentcraft. Here they saw films and discussed topics on preparing
them for their future role as parents. These are highly successful and
happy occasions.
