Whooping cough notifications were well down in 1954
and we hope that this is due to the increasing inoculation
against this disease.
New cases of tuberculosis notified have reached a record
low level so that the health of the community has improved
in nearly every aspect.
In conclusion 1 should like to express my thanks to the
Chairman and members of the Public Health Committee for
their help and co-operation and to the whole staff of the
department for their willing and loyal support.
I am, Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant.
A. R. GRAHAM.
Acting Medical Officer of Health.
July, 1955.
