MATERNAL MORTALITY.
There was one maternal death in the area during the
year under review, giving a maternal mortality rate of 1.13
per thousand births, live and still.
The usual table is reproduced below, giving a comparison
of the maternal death rates of the country as a whole, for the
past 20 years, with those of the Urban District.
