Milk Supply. There are no producers of milk registered
within the district, but one new distributor was registered
during the year for the sale of milk in sealed receptacles only.
140 inspections were made of dairies and milkshops in 1952
and at the end of the year there were on the register 26) distributors
and 5 dairies, of which 3 were large distribution
depots handling only milk in bottles or sealed drums.
80 samples of milk were submitted for bacteriological
examination during the year and all conformed to the prescribed
standards.
