TUBERCULOSIS.

One hundred and thirty new cases were added to the register of tuberculous persons, compared with 119 in 1946. These additions were:—

Of these 130, 95 were primary notifications, 32 were transferred
from other districts, and 3 came to notice in other ways.
During the year 87 persons were removed from the register
for the following reasons: —
Recovered 12
Removed from the district 47
Death 28
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the number
remaining on the register at the 31st December, 1947 was distributed
as shown in the following table: —
