which has since been moved to Morden Road and the Middleton
Road Nursery.
We have had to run both these nurseries for another year
without the essential services of a warden. All our efforts to
recruit teachers or child care reserve trained women have been
unsuccessful. This is discouraging to everybody interested in the
efficient running of the nurseries, for the task of directing the
activities of the two to five year old groups is generally beyond
the capacity of those with limited experience in this work. This
has been mentioned before in previous reports as an urgent
problem. There is still no solution in sight, and for those of us
who can see gaps in the nursery curriculum as well as the staff
who are struggling to maintain an efficient organisation without
adequate material, it is a matter for concern and is discouraging.
