Few maternity and child welfare dental schemes have been
ambitious enough to attempt to provide a complete dental
service for all the mothers, expectant and nursing and all the
children under five in the area. This, in approximate terms of
population would have meant the provision of a dentist for
6,000—7,000 people. What the future will be with the free
dental service available to all is impossible to foresee.
