The new cases admitted to the tuberculosis register during the year
numbered 79, classified as follows:—

The total of 736 is 41 less than at the corresponding date twelve months
earlier.
The number of patients from Carshalton who received institutional
treatment under the arrangements of the South-West Metropolitan Hospital
Board during the year was 47.

Of the total additions, 30 were primary notifications, 44 were transferred
from other districts and 5 came to notice in other ways.
