Tuberculosis
The new cases admitted to the tuberculosis register during the year
numbered 73, classified as follows:—

Of the total additions, 29 were primary notifications and 44 were
transferred from other districts. The new cases arising in the district at
29 is the lowest yearly total yet recorded.
In the same period, 110 names were removed from the register for the
following reasons :—

Death 8
Otherwise (including removals) 71
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the state of the register
at the 31st December, 1957, was as shewn in the following table:—
