Closet Accommodation
Soil drainage is everywhere by water closets to the sewers except for
17 properties where the w.c.'s are drained to 13 cesspools in unsewered areas.
The scheme proposed by the Council for an extension of the sewer in
the Woodcote Grove area which will do away with many of the existing
cesspools, still awaits the Ministry's loan sanction.
Public Cleansing
The arrangements for refuse collection and disposal were as shewn in
previous reports. Clinker and screenings from the destructor have been
tipped at various sites in the district and also at the Carshalton and Merton
and Morden Joint Cemetery Board's land in Maiden.
