The percentage of children under fifteen years of age immunised within
the previous five years was slightly higher than a year before at 63.5%.
A further 12.4% immunised more than five years previously would have
some lesser degree of residual protection.
The following table shows the estimated percentage of children
immunised at each year end since 1935, when the Council's scheme was
inaugurated and the incidence of diphtheria in the resident population.
