Disinfection
Eighty-five rooms, 2 T.B. Shelters and 218 library books were disinfected.
Five lots of bedding were sterilised and three lots destroyed.
Vermin Control
Persons.
The marked improvement in verminous conditions which occurred
after the second world war continues to be maintained. Little use was made
of the Council's Cleansing Station in Rochester Road where only ten cases
from two families with a total of thirty-three attendances were treated
during the year. They were all for pediculosis and included six schoolchildren.
Premises.
The number of premises treated for vermin and pests is shewn in the
table which follows.
The instances of bug infested dwellings were five
only and these were dealt with without recourse to hydrogen cyanide
fumigation.
