(a) (1) Number of dwelling houses overcrowded at the end of
the year 73
(2) Number of families dwelling therein 122
(3) Equivalent number of adults dwelling therein 525
(b) Number of new cases reported during the year 26
(c) (1) Number of cases of overcrowding relieved during the
year 58
(2) Number of persons concerned in such cases 395
(d) Particulars of any cases in which dwelling houses have
again become overcrowded after the local authority
have taken steps for the abatement of overcrowding
Overcrowding
During the year 26 cases of overcrowding were found to exist and 58
cases were remedied, leaving 73 dwellings with 525 equivalent adults in
occupation overcrowded at the end of the year.

The known position with regard to statutory overcrowding at the beginning and end of the year was as follows:

As observed in previous reports these figures indicate the position in
respect of overcrowding only as it comes to the notice of the department
in the course of routine daily work. The position is liable to daily variation
and only a simultaneous and complete survey of the whole district could
reveal the exact position at any time.
