Tuberculosis
The new cases admitted to the tuberculosis register during the
year numbered 122, classified as follows:

Of the total additions, 60 were primary notifications, 61 were
transferred from other districts, and 1 came to notice in other ways.
For the same period, 106 names were removed from the register
for the following reasons:

Otherwise (including removals) 71
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the state of the
register at the 31st December, 1953, was as shown in the following
