Disinfection.
In connection with cases of infectious disease, 174 rooms, 3 shelters
and 364 library books were disinfected. Twenty lots of bedding were
sterilised and six lots destroyed.
Vermin Control.
Persons.
Verminous persons and their personal clothing can be disinfected
at the Council's Cleansing Station in Rochester Road. These are
adapted premises which, although comparing unfavourably with modern
standards, provide very useful service. The equipment includes a
Thresh Steam Disinfector. A trained nurse is in attendance for women
and children and a male attendant to deal with adult males. The
nurse-in-charge follows up cases in their own homes and deals with the
family as a unit, whilst the Sanitary Inspectors visit when attention to
the premises is necessary.
financial arrangements exist with the Education Authority in
respect of the treatment of schoolchildren.

Premises.
During the year, two lots of verminous bedding were stoved, one lot
