Disinfection.
In connection with cases of infectious disease, 218 rooms and 326
library books were disinfected. Eighteen lots of bedding were
sterilised and two lots destroyed.
Vermin Control.
Persons.
The cleansing of verminous persons and their personal clothing
can be carried out at premises adjoining the Rochester Road Clinic.
This is an adapted building which, whilst it provides a useful service,
is much below the generally accepted standard for premises of this
nature. It is fitted with a Thresh Steam Disinfector, has a trained
nurse in attendance to deal with women and children and a male
operator for adult males. The nurse in charge also has the duty of
following up verminous cases in their own homes to ensure that the
family as a unit is adequately dealt with. The homes are visited also
by the Sanitary Inspectors as necessary when attention to the premises
is required.
