Inspection of Food.

The following quantities of food found to be unsound, diseased or unwholesome and unfit for human food were surrendered and destroyed or so disposed of as to prevent them from being used for human food :—

Inspection of Food Premises.
Details of the visits of inspection to food premises and the resulting
remedial action taken is shown in Table 10.
Food and Drugs Act—Section 13.
One prosecution was taken in respect of food premises which failed
to comply with the requirements of Section 13 for the prevention of
contamination. The Defendant pleaded guilty and was ordered to
pay costs of £2 6s. Od.
Food Hygiene.
With a view to promoting better standards of hygiene in the
preparation, storage and sale of food, leaflets of advice on food handling
were supplied to all food establishments for distribution to their
employees. These were followed by Codes of Practice which were
recommended for application to (a) premises, and (b) personnel.
