Cake and Pudding Mixture—No. 47.
Prosecution was taken on the grounds that this mixture was
unfit by reason of the presence of large quantities of flour mites.
The case was lost as the result of an error in procedure.
Yorkshire Pudding and Pancake Mixture—Nos. 59 and 64.
Although stated to contain egg, the label was deemed to be misleading
in that the egg content was about one-quarter of that
generally used in the preparation of Yorkshire pudding made with
fresh or dried egg. Prosecution was pending at the year end.
Food Inspection.
The following articles of food found to be unsound, diseased
or unwholesome and unfit for human food, were surrendered and
either destroyed or taken charge of by the Ministry of Food Salvage
Department, or so disposed of as to prevent them from being used
for human food : —
