Maternity Hospital Treatment.
The Council's arrangements for hospital treatment for maternity
cases are as described in previous reports.
A total of 62 cases was referred from the Council's clinics to maternity institutions as follows :—

Consultant Service.
Specialist advice may be obtained under the scheme for the
complications and emergencies of pregnancy and labour and for
puerperal pyrexia. The services of the Council's Consultant were
called upon on 5 occasions for the following conditions :—
Puerperal pyrexia (2).
Retained placenta.
Post partum haemorrhage.
Abnormal presentation.
