[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for Carshalton]

Eleven of the new cases of overcrowding were illegal. Seven
were abated by informal action and 3 by service of statutory
notice. One was outstanding at the end of the year.
The 155 families were decrowded during the year in the following
manner:—
1. By provision of alternative accommodation—
(a) By Carshalton Council 37
(b) By London County Council 45
2. Left the district 25
3. By removal of one or more occupants 42
4. The families themselves securing alternative
accommodation 6

The position in respect of overcrowding in the individual wards up to the end of 1937 was as follows:—
