Whooping cough immunisation is not carried out in schools as it is intended primarily for children under five years old.

POLIOMYELITIS
There were no cases of poliomyelitis during the year. Since 1957 there have
been only two cases notified in Mitcham, one in 1959 and one in 1962.

The total number immunised since the beginning of polio vaccination is
now 26,459.
Practically all poliomyelitis immunisation is carried out now with
oral vaccine.
ENTERIC FEVER
There were no cases of enteric fever during the year.
