The results of the swabs were sent to the establishments concerned and
visits were paid to premises where the results were unsatisfactory.
MILK (SPECIAL DESIGNATION) REGULATIONS. 1960
During the year the Council granted the following number of licences:-
Dealer's (Pre-packed Milk) Licences-
Pasteurised 3
Pasteurised and Sterilised 3
Pasteurised, Sterilised and Tuberculin Tested 2
One hundred and twenty-nine samples of graded milk were submitted for
bacteriological examination.
Five were void owing to temperature change and three were unsatisfactory.
Letters were sent to the suppliers in these cases and further samples taken were
satisfactory.
BAKEHOUSES
The number of bakehouses in the district is three. Thirty-two visits have been paid.
DAIRIES
There is one registered dairy and pasteurising establishment within the district.
During the year thirteen visits of inspection were paid.
SLAUGHTERHOUSES
During the year four hundred and seventy-six visits were made to the slaughterhouse.
SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS ACT, 1958
Ten licences were issued to slaughtermen in accordance with the requirements of
the above Act.
