The post-natal clinic is held once monthly. 104 cases
attended during the year.
Infant Life Protection
The Superintendent Health Visitor has been appointed the
Infant Life Protection Visitor for this district.
Frequent visits during the year are paid to the homes of the
foster children.
A strict supervision is kept on these homes, and no cause was
found to remove any infant from the care of the foster mother
during the year.
The following are the number of foster mothers and children
on the register:—

Adoption of Children Act, 1939.
This Act came into force on June 1st, 1943. Numbers of
children are placed in homes in the Borough by the registered
adoption societies without any reference to the Local Welfare
Authority. Adoption societies have been requested to notify the
Superintendent Health Visitor, who is Infant Life Protection
Visitor, of any cases placed for adoption in the Borough.
