Great progress has also been made in improving the housing
accommodation of the working classes, and steps have been taken to
control the caravan yards.
The presentation of this report affords me an opportunity of
expressing my appreciation of the support I have received from all
members of the Council, and especially those who are members of
the committees with which I am directly concerned. Thanks are
also gratefully tendered to the chief officials for their unfailing help,
to the general practitioners for their support and active interest in
the cause of preventive medicine, and to the staff of the Public
Health Department, whose loyal co-operation throughout the year is
gratefully acknowledged.
