Meat Inspection
The work of 100% meat inspection has been maintained without any marked reduction in the
number of carcases inspected.
The slaughterhouses operate a full six day working week and therefore attendance at the
premises during "out of office hours" continues to be necessary.
Disposal of condemned meat in either slaughterhouse poses no problem, in the one case it
is sent into the knackers yard and in the other it is collected and taken to the Refuse Disposal
Works for incineration.
Slaughtermen
Eleven men were licensed as slaughtermen, of whom seven were licensed to slaughter
horses.
