Those parents who did not respond to the invitation to have their child B.C.G. vaccinated
in 1959 will be given a further opportunity in I960.
As a result of the Mantoux testing one girl aged 14 was found to be strongly positive.
X-ray chest in the summer was normal but on re-X-ray later in the year the girl was found to have
an early tuberculous lesion and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

The work of the department was maintained during the year though handicapped by the
unfortunate absence through illness of the Area Dental Officer during the last Quarter.
