STATISTICAL SUMMARY
Deaths are classified under the 36 headings based on the abbreviated List
of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases Injuries and Causes of
Death, 1955. Deaths are assigned to the area where the deceased normally
resided, except where the death occurs in a residential home or in a chronic sick
or mental hospital where the deceased had been a patient for six months or more.
Although there was a natural increase in population which arose from the births exceeding deaths by 429, the Registrar General estimate of population shows a reduction of 1,600, meaning that the movement of population out of the Borough must have exceeded the inward movement by 2,029.
