Disinfestation was carried out upon removal to council houses in 98
instances, but later in the year the Council modified their policy which was
hitherto to require all new tenants to have their effects disinfested with
hydrogen cyanide. The present practice is for households to be visited by
sanitary inspectors prior to removal, and only those cases which are found to
be verminous are disinfested.
38 inspections of this nature were carried out by sanitary inspectors.
