During 1951, 788 visits were made to outworkers premises by
the Sanitary Inspectors,,
Shops Act
In the administration of the Shops Acts, 2737 inspections
were made by the Shops Inspector. Most contraventions recorded
have been minor defaults, the non exhibition of statutory notices,
and the failure to keep proper records of young persons hours of
employment in respect of which 318 verbal warnings and notices
have been issued.
Systematic visitation of shops throughout the Borough has
