Housing Act, 1936 - Part V; The Tewkesbury Estate,
This estate is approximately 23 acres in extent and consists
of old worn out houses in respect of which clearance order and compulsory
purchase procedure were initiated before the war but which
had to be suspended.
On the estate, which consists of high density housing, are 458
dwellings and 100 shops with living accommodation. The houses are
generally poorly constructed two storied terraced dwelling houses
built some sixty to seventy years ago.
