A new Austin ambulance was delivered in February, 1948,
replacing vehicle AMD 836, which had been in continuous service
since 1933.
A new Bedford coach was added to the children's transport
service for conveying children to the four Day Special Schools, and
this service, together with the school meals service, has continued
to operate in conjunction with the ambulance service, under the
Public Health Department's administration.
