(12) Immunisation against Diphtheria.
Four immunisation clinics were held each week, and every
encouragement given by propaganda and individual advice to
mothers by doctors, midwives and health visitors, to ensure that a
high proportion of children receive protection.
The year under review shows a remarkable decline in the
incidence of the disease, there being 22 cases of diphtheria notified
to the department. No death occurred from diphtheria.
