made unceasing efforts to enforce action under the provisions of
Section 9. Housing Act, 1936.
The school health service has been well maintained. The
transfer of functions under the new provisions of the Education Act,
1944, took place as from the first of April, 1945. For an Authority
of the size and efficiency of Tottenham, the past must step reluctantly
into the future.
Despite the mulifarious duties added during the war years and
the heavy depletion of staff, many hours of overtime service have
been given by all those left behind, in order that the work of the
department should continue uninterrupted.
For the support and encouragement accorded to me by the
Chairman and Members of the Town Council, I am deeply grateful.
