CO-ORDINATION.
The Health Services of the Borough are within the same
administration, and the organisation is such that a ready
co-operation is obtained in all branches of the work.
The Department is indebted to many organisations whose work
is related to Maternity and Child Welfare, and who have generously
assisted wherever required. The Almoner services of the
Prince of Wales and North Middlesex Hospitals, the Invalid Children's
Aid Association, the N.S.P.C.C., and the Women's Voluntary
Service have been particularly helpful. Good contact has
been maintained with the services of the Middlesex County Council
in this area, especially for the treatment of Tuberculosis and
Venereal Diseases.
HEALTH VISITORS.
The year began with a staff of 16 Health Visitors and a Superintendent
and an Assistant Superintendent Health Visitor. During
the year members of the staff left the service for various reasons,
and because of the shortage of trained personnel in securing replacements,
the work of the department was carried out under difficulties,
and, in fact, for the greater part of the year with a depleted
staff.
